TCEA Regional Programming Meet head at Central Heights. This isn't technically a UIL event, but it involves academic extracurricular activities. Results of Small-School Division:
1st - Will Dickerson, Patrick Griffin, Bradley Edge
2nd - Erik Williams, Aleshia Huffman, Ben Meeks
3rd - Sean Wilburn, Russell Pryor, Brett Burnett
4th - Jonah Bauer, Justin Fenley, April Gregston
Congratulations go to all the Center programming teams who swept the first four places in the Small-School Division of the contest. In addition, the first two teams will compete later in the year at the state TCEA tournament in Austin.

There was lots of stiff competition at this meet. Congratulations to everyone placing at this meet. Center received 2nd place overall.
February 10, 1999
The Cross-Examination debate tournament was held today at the First Methodist Church in Center. Participating schools were Center, Diboll, and Central. Thanks go to Mr. Loftice, Mrs. Parker, and all the various judges and timekeepers that made the event possible. Results:
1st - Diboll
2nd - Ryan Miller & Ben Meeks (Center)
3rd - Diboll
4th - Central
The first two teams (Diboll & Center) will be representing our UIL district in state competition on March 15 & 16. Congratulations go to everyone involved. Also, congratulations go out to Shelbyville High School for sweeping 1st, 2nd, and 3rd places at their district competition last week.
January 30, 1999
